Sources: UCLA interviews Rocky Seto

UCLA has interviewed Rocky Seto for its vacant defensive coordinator job, according to sources familiar with the situation. Seto, who was USC's defensive coordinator in 2009, was serving as assistant defensive backs coach on Pete Carroll's staff with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Los Angeles Daily News reported late Tuesday night that UCLA has hired Seto. However, a school spokesman said, "No one has been hired for the position at this time."

Seto declined to comment on the matter when reached by ESPNLosAngeles.com on his cell phone Tuesday afternoon, saying via text message that he was on a family vacation.

UCLA interviewed former Miami head coach Randy Shannon for the position last week.

Seto would be the fourth member of Carroll's staff to leave for the college ranks this winter. Defensive line coach Dan Quinn left to become defensive coordinator at Florida, quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch is the new offensive coordinator at Miami and defensive backs coach Jerry Gray accepted a position at the University of Texas.
