Candace Parker is expected to rejoin the Los Angeles Sparks when they host the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, the team announced Monday.
The 2008 MVP has been out since June 26 with a torn lateral meniscus in her right knee. She has missed 15 games.
"We're beyond excited that Candace is coming back for the stretch run of our season," Sparks head coach Joe Bryant said in a statement released by the team. "She's worked her tail off to rehab her knee. It's a testament to Candace's determination and professionalism."
Parker has averaged 17.7 points and 9.9 rebounds in her seven games.
Los Angeles (9-13) was 4-2 before Parker was injured in the loss to New York. Including that defeat, the Sparks went 3-11 over a 14-game span before winning their last two.
Parker returns to a club that is three games behind Seattle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West.
