What a finish in Salt Lake City, where No. 24 Utah came back to beat USC 31-27.
With under a minute to go and facing fourth-and-1 from the USC 23-yard line, Utah could have sent out All-American kicker Andy Phillips to tie the game, but coach Kyle Whittingham elected to go for it. The Utes picked up the first down and QB Troy Williams hit WR Tim Patrick for an 18-yard game-winning touchdown on the next play.
USC led by 14 early in the second half and with the loss, falls to 1-3 on the season. Utah remains undefeated at 4-0.
