LaVar would thank China's Xi, not Trump (1:09)

LaVar Ball reiterated there's no reason for him to thank President Trump in the case of his son, LiAngelo, and two other UCLA freshmen returning to the U.S. after being held in China for shoplifting. "You heard what he tweeted," Ball said of Trump during an interview on CNN. "He tweeted because he is mad at me [that] I should have left their asses in jail. First of all, they weren't in jail, they were in a hotel. How did they get into a hotel? Somebody had to do something. Did he do it? If he paid for the money to put up whatever we needed to do then I would say thank you. Did he do that?... He said he helped. How did he help? If he helped, I would say thank you... Do I think the president helped? I don't know. I don't care and I don't know." Ball did thank Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Not the end of the world

Rams head coach Sean McVay joined JB Long and D'Marco Farr to talk about his team losing 24-7 on the road to the Minnesota Vikings. McVay says the Rams didn't play "great complementary football," and that led to the loss. Also, McVay broke down what to expect this weekend for the Rams as they clash with the New Orleans Saints.

Sean McVay said the Rams will try to replace Robert Woods "by committee." Josh Reynolds, Mike Thomas and Pharoh Cooper will factor in. Tavon Austin, a backfield decoy this season, will see more snaps, probably both as a running back and a traditional receiver. But there's no getting around it: Sammy Watkins has to step up now.

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn and Philip Rivers had an animated exchange in the first quarter of the Buffalo Bills with the Bolts up 10-7. Asked to reveal what the two were talking about, Lynn politely declined. However, Lynn did say that he and Rivers are good. "In games, Philip plays with a lot of fire, plays with a lot of emotions," Lynn said. "I like that. I think those emotions are what make him the player that he is today. Sometimes we have different opinions on things. We talk it out. We yell it out -- whatever it takes. But at the end of the day, we're on the same page. I don't think that's uncommon at all, especially when you know one another and you trust one another. You can have some healthy conflict, and no one takes it personal."

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler said he likes 1980's rock music, which is why he does the air guitar for his TD celebration. Ekeler said his favorite ‘80s rock band is Aerosmith. "I always wanted to play the guitar," Ekeler said. "It's something I'll definitely pick up in the offseason. I was going to in college, but never really had the time."

Rams WR Robert Woods injured his left shoulder on an in-breaking route late in Sunday's game, when Harrison Smith tackled him to the ground with his weight on top of him. Rams coach Sean McVay said "there was a chance" this injury would threaten Woods' season and require surgery. "But I think we got good, positive news back on that," McVay added. Rams are hoping it's two weeks.
