Dodgers are undecided if they are going to bring up Yasiel Puig on Sept 1 or later in Sept so he can get more consistent at-bats at AAA for his development. However, their tentative plan is for him to be back with Dodgers this year. It is also unlikely that Puig clears waivers and even more unlikely he's traded, at least until the off-season. According to a league source the Dodgers put close to 20 players on waivers this past weekend like almost every other club does this time of year.

Clayton Kershaw will pitch in a simulated game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday and manager Dave Roberts was jokingly asked if Tim Tebow will be there to hit. "I don't know if Tebow will be a part of that," Roberts said. "I know there's some strength behind his swing. I saw a little video. Great athlete. I just don't know if he's ready for the Clayton Kershaw slider, though."

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Monday that they have signed former Notre Dame standout forward Zach Auguste, increasing the Lakers' training camp roster to 16. The 6-foot-10 Auguste played for the Lakers' 2016 Summer League team in Las Vegas, averaging 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in four games.

Highly-touted freshman linebacker Mique Juarez continues to be excused from UCLA practice. He has not practiced with the team for more than two weeks and coach Jim Mora said he's getting the help he needs to deal with some personal issues. Juarez, the No. 30 overall recruit in the Class of 2016, will not play against Texas A&M.

UCLA coach Jim Mora provided an injury update after practice Monday. Most notable: DL Deon Hollins and FB Cameron Griffin are doubtful to play against Texas A&M while still dealing with concussion-like symptoms. Mora wouldn't completely rule them out.
