Did not notice this stat from Elias until after Sunday night's game, but it's a doozy: The Dodgers' Justin Turner is 13 for 18 (a .722 average) in with runners in scoring position during his postseason career. Highest of any player with at least 10 postseason at-bats.

A sign the Chargers' roster has improved, for a second straight week the Bolts lost a player on waivers. The New York Giants claimed LB Nigel Harris. The Chargers lost safety Dexter McCoil to the San Francisco 49ers last week.

Luke Walton updates on Lakers injuries included full practices for Lonzo Ball and Andrew Bogut, while Julius Randle remained limited (intercostal strain). Walton isn't committing to playing Randle until he shows he's healthy before Thursday, and said Larry Nance could start. Randle feels he'll be ready Thursday, but was indifferent on whether he'd be fine with coming off the bench.

Today is the 13th anniversary of Dave Roberts' famous stolen base against Mariano Rivera in the 2004 ALCS, the steal that made that comeback possible. He said he had a funny story about that. "A couple weeks ago, I guess Yu Darvish was surfing the Internet and came across that play and realized, oh yeah, that was his manager out there."

Slumping Baez out of Game 3 lineup for Cubs

Kyle Schwarber got the start in left field on Tuesday night against Yu Darvish. With Schwarber batting second behind Ben Zobrist, NL MVP Kris Bryant, first baseman Anthony Rizzo and catcher Willson Contreras each moved down a spot in the order.

One thing to watch during tonight's NLCS Game 3 at Wrigley: the flags on the outfield foul poles. The wind is blowing straight out now, and that could be what the Cubs' need to ignite their struggling offense.
