Kenya's Kirui wins 2nd L.A. Marathon in 3 years

Kenya's Weldon Kirui raced to his second Los Angeles Marathon victory in three years, finishing in 2 hours, 11 minutes, 48 seconds on Sunday. Ethiopia's Sule Utura Gedo claimed the women's title in 2:33.49.

Three-time NBA champion Rick Fox and Memphis Grizzlies' Grizz Gaming general manager Lang Whitaker at SXSW in Austin, Texas discuss the evolution of basketball teams and affiliates involvement in esports. Thirteen of the 30 NBA teams or their owners have some form of ownership in esports and Fox, the former Laker and Celtic, founded his own team, Echo Fox, in 2015.

Brandon Ingram said the next step to returning is to go on the court and ramp it up with the team. The next practice for the Lakers likely is early next week in New Orleans after they play in Indiana on Monday. "He obviously is coming with us on the road trip," Luke Walton said. "I wouldn't be surprised if he plays on the road trip. He is feeling much better he says. But we are going to keep being patient with him and make sure that he goes through all the proper channels before we throw him back out there."

Luke Walton was asked if there's been any talk about using Luol Deng with so many injuries. Walton said it's been discussed internally and with Deng and that all parties involved are good with the veteran not playing. "We've discussed it," Walton said. "Multiple people [were part of the discussion] but we decided it was best to keep it where we've been at."
