Chatman and Fever finding their way in new era

After being let go by Chicago last year, Pokey Chatman couldn't have been happier to land in Indiana as the Fever's head coach. On Wednesday, Chatman and her new team overcame a 14-point deficit to down defending champion Los Angeles.

Tough second inning for Rich Hill as he scuffled through a 36-pitch inning that included four walks and some words with umpire Rob Drake about the strike zone. He was lucky to survive with just the two runs Kolten Wong drove in. Between his issues with blisters and shaky command when he has been able to pitch, Hill is a long way from the starter who had a 2.12 ERA last season.

ESPN Stats and Information

Despite the Angels loss, Mike Trout stayed hot on Wednesday night. Since his 1st full season in 2012, Trout has 62 games with multiple extra-base hits, most in MLB. The next closest in that span is Miguel Cabrera (58).

A key surprise for the Dodgers has been infielder Chris Taylor, acquired last summer from the Mariners. He began the season in Triple-A, but enters Wednesday's game hitting .326/.437/.570 in 30 games. He even makes his first MLB appearance in the outfield, filling in for Joc Pederson, who has the night off after Tuesday's collision with Yasiel Puig.

Angels RF Kole Calhoun (rest) is not in Wednesday's lineup vs. the Rays. Cameron Maybin will start in his place and lead off against Erasmo Ramirez with Ben Revere patrolling left field and batting sixth. Los Angeles also placed P Alex Meyer (back) on the 10-day DL and recalled P Brooks Pounders from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday in a corresponding roster move.

Angels LF Cameron Maybin and CF Mike Trout hit back-to-back homers to start Tuesday's 4-0 win vs. the Rays. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, it's the third time in franchise history that the first two batters of a game went deep. Rex Hudler and Don Slaught did it in 1996, and Kole Calhoun and Trout turned the trick in 2013.
