Post NBA draft deadline Way-Too-Early Top 25: UCLA

Lonzo Ball can't be replaced, but Aaron Holiday and Thomas Welsh both withdrawing from the draft, as well as the addition of incoming recruit Jaylen Hands, has UCLA looking poised for big things again.

The Hall of Fame announced Thursday it will present the Buck O'Neil lifetime Achievement Award to Rachel Robinson July 29 in Cooperstown ceremonies honoring two pioneering African-American women. Journalist Claire Smith is to receive the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions as a baseball writer. Robinson established and headed the Jackie Robinson Foundation, in memory of her late husband, who broke baseball's color line 70 years ago last month. Hall chairman Jane Forbes Clark said, "Rachel Robinson has worked tirelessly to raise the level of equality not only in baseball, but throughout society."

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Thursday that Lonzo Ball has informed the Celtics he will not work out for them prior to the NBA draft. Appearing on Boston sports radio 98.5 the Sports Hub, Ainge said it's not an ideal situation with the Celtics eager to evaluate all top talent while owning the No. 1 pick but noted that the Celtics have drafted players that didn't work out for them in the past.
