My favorite story about Carlos Ruiz's leadership qualities: Roy Halladay told me he was pitching one night, gave up a couple of hits late in the game and out came Charlie Manuel. Next thing he knew, Ruiz was running to the mound because he clearly wanted to get there before the manager. "He said, `Don't let him take you out of this game. We need you in this game,'" Halladay said. "So I said to Charlie, `I want to stay in.' He looked at me. He looked at Chooch. Then he looked at Chase (Utley), who was standing behind me. And he knew he was pretty much outnumbered." So of course he stayed in the game. By Carlos Ruiz's decree.

A.J. Ellis is a "glue guy" with strong ties to the Dodgers and their ace, Clayton Kershaw, but Carlos Ruiz quite simply is the better option.
While much of the attention is focused on Jared Goff, Case Keenum continues to perform and play like the starter that he is.
Still stunned from the trade of clubhouse fave A.J. Ellis, the Dodgers were nearly no-hit by Matt Moore as the Giants trimmed their NL West lead.
