Crowded leaderboard for Saturday's homers

Khris Davis barely clipped Daniel Murphy for the longest bomb in MLB Saturday. Evan Gattis and Justin Upton weren't far behind, while Giancarlo Stanton's 57th of the year landed at No. 5.

UCLA QB Josh Rosen with an up and down first half, similar to what USC QB Sam Darnold did earlier today against Cal. Rosen was 16-of-28 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the opening two quarters against Stanford. Rosen only went under center twice but seemed perfectly comfortable out of the gun or at the line of scrimmage.

Stanford offense is in desperate need of a quarterback. K.J. Costello provides a spark, but just took on 3 UCLA tacklers at the goal line. If David Shaw didn't faint, He'll tell Costello to cut it out

WNBA salaries in focus as Finals tip off

An article earlier this week suggested the WNBA is underpaying its players, and members of the Lynx and Sparks were on the same side Saturday ahead of Game 1, agreeing they deserve a bigger cut of revenue.

Statement from Chargers owner Dean Spanos on Donald Trump's comments regarding NFL player protests: "I wholeheartedly agree with the commissioner's statement. The NFL and its players, more than anything, have been a force for good. What our country needs right now is a message of unity, civility and mutual respect."

USC stops turnover-prone Cal (1:11)

Heather Dinich ESPN Senior Writer

USC took care of business in a 30-20 win over Cal, a team that was feeling confident after a 3-0 start and had home field advantage against the Trojans. It was an important win for USC's CFP hopes because they have to turn right around and hit the road again on Friday against a talented Washington State team. Don't forget: somebody has to get left out. No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson both won. SEC and ACC should both be in if they keep it up. OU is leading Baylor and TCU is still undefeated. Big 12 is still in great shape. PSU is ranked ahead and coming up next. Big Ten has several contenders. The Pac-12 has some serious CFP competition and needs USC to keep it up.

USC took advantage of four interceptions by Cal QB Ross Bowers - boy, did he float 'em out there - and scored 17 points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, lifting the fifth-ranked Trojans to a 30-20 victory over Cal today. The game was tied at 13-13 after three quarters.

Head Coach Helton discusses the great second half by USC (0:46)

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

As a result of such massive preseason expectations, USC's first four games have to be considered underwhelming. Still, the Trojans are about to go to 4-0 and at this time a year ago, they were sitting at 1-3. Next week is massive: Friday night at Washington State, which will also enter the game undefeated.

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

How would USC combat not having its top running back, No. 2 receiver and No. 2 linebacker? Force 6 turnovers (and counting). Clancy Pendergast's group has tormented Ross Bowers (4 interceptions) and the Cal offense today. After a shaky start against Western Michigan, USC's defense has really buckled down the past two weeks.

Edward Aschoff ESPN Staff Writer

Sam Darnold has had to go short today with his passes. He hasn't completed a pass thrown 15 or more yards downfield today (o-for-8 with an interception). But short passes have been his friend. He's 25-of-29 for 222 yards and 2 TDs on passes less than 15 yards through the air. Darnold entered the day completing 41% of his downfield throws with 5 TD this season

After a scoreless 3rd quarter, USC has scored 17 points in little more than 4 minutes. And Trojans RT Chuma Edoga was blowing kisses to the Cal crowd.
