Wednesday's longest home runs

Just because the Braves and Twins have two of the worst records in baseball doesn't mean their guys can't slug. Matt Kemp and Kennys Vargas paced the competition on Wednesday, while Hunter Renfroe's 413-footer was the first to hit the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co. at Petco.

Joc Pederson hit his 25th home run for the Dodgers on Wednesday, giving the club four players with 25 or more home runs. Yasmani Grandal, Corey Seager and Justin Turner also have hit that mark. It is the fourth time the Dodgers have accomplished that feat, also doing it in 1997, 1977 and 1955.

After 13 years of Petco Park in San Diego, somebody has finally hit a home run on the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co., in a regular-season game anyway. The Padres' Hunter Renfroe, in his seventh career game, crushed one on top of the fourth floor of the brick building down the LF line. Perhaps more of those are coming from Renfroe, who already has four HRs in those seven games.
