Lonzo Ball finished 1-for-12 from 3-point range, including missing three (all 3's) of the Lakers' last four shots of the game. The Lakers, who surrendered 80 points in the paint, lost their fourth straight game after not scoring in the final three and a half minutes. The Pelicans totally backed off Ball and the rookie always has the confidence that he will take and make open 3's. But Ball — who finished with six points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and two blocks — is in a major slump and has not made more than one 3-pointer in a game in seven straight games. He is shooting just 7-for-48 from 3 during that span.

The Rams added some needed depth at inside linebacker by signing Ramik Wilson, who could conceivably compete with Cory Littleton for a starting spot alongside Mark Barron. Wilson, 6-foot-2 and 237 pounds, was a restricted free agent who was not tendered by the Chiefs and got a one-year deal from the Rams. He had 111 tackles and 4 fumble recoveries in three seasons.
