Research Notes

  • According to single-game BPI - a 0-100 score of each team's performance in a given game, taking into account pace-adjusted score margin, opponent, and site - Michigan State's 23-point destruction of Michigan Tuesday night registered a 99.8, the 2nd-best single-game performance by any team this season. It rates just behind Miami's 27-point win vs Duke back on January 23. Keep in mind that these numbers will change every day as opponent strengths evolve throughout the rest of the season.

  • The Wolverine offense was "off" tonight. Michigan scored a season-low 52 points and trailed by as many as 31 points. They were held under 40 percent from the field for just the 4th time this season. They committed a season-high 16 turnovers and they were outrebounded by a 11, their worst rebound margin of the season.

  • Michigan State's 23-point win is tied for its 5th-largest ever over Michigan.
