Research Notes

  • In NEC action tonight, both Mt. St. Mary's guard Sam Prescott and Central Connecticut guard Kyle Vinales scored 40 points. They are the 1st pair of players from the same conference to top the 40-point plateau on the same day since Tyrese Rice and Sean Singletary did so for Boston College and Virginia, respectively in ACC play on March 1, 2008. It is the 9th such occurrence of its kind since the 1996-97 season.

  • Kyle Vinales scored 42 points for Central Connecticut State in a loss to Wagner on Thursday. He is the second NEC player to score 40 or more points tonight (Sam Prescott scored 44 for Mt. St. Mary's). The 42 points is tied for the fourth-highest points scored by a D-I player this season.
