Wiggins, Kansas surge past Parker, Duke

Andrew Wiggins scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, outplaying Jabari Parker down the stretch and helping No. 5 Kansas knock off fourth-ranked Duke 94-83 on Tuesday night.

  • Andrew Wiggins and Perry Ellis led the Jayhawks with 16 paint points each on a combined 16-of-21 shooting in the paint, including 9-of-12 in the second half.Duke scored five second-chance points off of five offensive rebounds Tuesday. The Blue Devils had four games with fewer than five second chance points all of last season.

  • Despite having the same number of touches in the second half as he did in the first half, Jabari Parker scored half as many points. Perry Ellis did the best job on Parker defensively in the game, limiting him to 2-of-6 from the field.

  • Kansas outscored Duke 19-7 in transition Tuesday. Andrew Wiggins outscored the Blue Devils by himself on the break, scoring a game-high eight points in transition.
