Research Notes

  • Willie Cauley-Stein had nine blocks in Kentucky's last game against Providence, which led to 12 Wildcat points. On Friday, Cauley-Stein did manage to block three shots, but all resulted in Baylor offensive rebounds.

  • After Julius Randle's dunk to put Kentucky up 50-41 at 13:09 of the second half, the Wildcat's offense went cold. Kentucky made just two field goals (both three-pointers by James Young), and committed five turnovers. Baylor outscored Kentucky 26-12 to end the game.

  • Baylor's zone defense swarmed Julius Randle most of the time when he touched the ball in the low block. While Randle scored 12 points off Baylor double teams, the rest of the Kentucky team only had eight.
