WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Marcus Paige was supposed to be in the conversation for ACC Player of the Year, maybe even the Wooden Award. Instead, he has been just another player -- and that's just not enough for North Carolina to cut down the nets in Houston.
Paige has been the go-to guy for the past two seasons in Chapel Hill. He averaged 17.5 points as a sophomore and managed to put up 14-plus points per game last season despite dealing with multiple foot injuries.
But Paige was mostly healthy this season. At least physically.
Mentally? Not so much.
