Perhaps the highest compliment to any coach's ability is a team that does the same excellent things over a period of years while the actual players come and go. Examples of such excellence are few in number in college basketball, but these are the names that loom large in the coaching profession.

Here's a noncomprehensive list of such coaches. Let's briefly consider and remind ourselves of what makes each one unusually good, and, what the heck, let us do so in alphabetical order.
