Offensively, Cassius Winston carried Michigan State in the first half. Winston has 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting. The rest of the Spartans are 6-of-20. Michigan State, the No. 2 seed in the East Regional, trail 15th-seeded Bradley 35-34 at halftime. Bradley is 6-of-9 from three, compared to 2-of-10 for the Spartans.

A crazy finish to Auburn (-6)-New Mexico State, as Tigers hold on to win 78-77. Game goes OVER total of 145.5. Underdogs are now 3-0 ATS on the day.

Terrell Brown, fouled while attempting a 3, saw the game-tying free throw go in and out with 1.1 seconds left, but his team got another chance after Auburn lost the rebound out of bounds. Trevelin Queen then got a clean look from the corner, but air-balled his shot. Auburn holds on, but a great effort by New Mexico State. What a finish.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

New Mexico State will not go away. Malik Dunbar hit a quick 3 at the corner to pull them within 1 once again, with 6.8 seconds left.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

New Mexico State forced back-to-back turnovers and got a huge 3 from Trevelin Queen to pull within 1 with 15 seconds left. Packed house here is stunned.

Michigan State is struggling to separate from Bradley but has reason to feel optimistic. The Braves are 4-of-6 from three and are shooting 47 percent overall. They're also outrebounding the Spartans 13-10. Michigan State is shooting just 32 percent but still leads 20-19 with just more than seven minutes remaining in the first half.

Jared Harper having a big second half after being limited by foul trouble in the first. Now up to a game-high 17 points on 4 of 8 shooting from 3. Also has 4 assists, with Auburn up 9.

Emmitt Williams says the outside distractions didn't affect LSU.

Skylar Mays says LSU had confidence down the stretch to survive Yale's comeback attempt.

Emmitt Williams crashed into press row for a loose ball and his jersey bears the soda marks.

This is more like the Auburn team we expected in the Tournament — getting extra possessions, stretching the floor. They have forced 5 turnovers and made 4 3-pointers in the first 9 minutes of the second half, lead by 8.

LSU survived a massive second-half challenge against Yale to win 79-74 and advance to the second round in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009. The last time the Tigers were in the tournament, they blew a double-digit halftime lead and it nearly happened again on Thursday as Yale limited their offense and found clutch performances from the bench. But LSU made its free-throws down the stretch to advance.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Auburn is separating itself early in this second half. Less than three minutes in, they made a couple of 3s, forced 4 turnovers and jumped out to a 10-0 run.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Have to hand it to Yale and veteran coach James Jones -- the Bulldogs have done a great job limiting LSU on the offensive end while finding ways to compensate with leading scorer Miye Oni struggling. The Bulldogs made it a game in the second half when it threatened to turn into a blowout at halftime.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Auburn did not make a shot in the final 5 minutes and 22 seconds of the first half. Both teams are shooting a combined 5 of 25 from 3.

Louisville never mounted a serious challenge after Minnesota built a 19-point second-half lead, allowing the Gophers to coast to a 86-76 victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Des Moines. The Cardinals narrowed the deficit to seven points with 2 minutes left, but they never got any closer. The Gophers got 24 points, including five three-pointers, from freshman Gabe Kalscheur. Minnesota moves on to play the winner of the Michigan State-Bradley game on Saturday.

Auburn ahead 32-29 on New Mexico State after the first half despite having to sit Jared Harper for most of it because of foul trouble. Chuma Okeke has 8 points to lead Auburn, which has gone 10 deep.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Auburn's athleticism and physicality is making it very difficult for New Mexico State to get shots off in its half-court offense. Aggies have 8 turnovers and are shooting 40 percent, but they're down only 6 with the first half winding down.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Yale leading scorer Miye Oni is struggling, but the Bulldogs are staying in the game with LSU thanks in part to Alex Copeland, with nine second-half points, and their bench -- which is outscoring the Tigers. After a strong first-half, Tremont Waters is scoreless in the second for LSU.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Jared Harper picked up two early fouls, but J'Von McCormick has been big off the bench, making 3 of 4 shots to help Auburn get out to a 10-0 run that has them up 6 with 6:22 left in the first half.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

Minnesota made just 32 percent from three during the regular season but is 10-of-24 (42 percent) as the Gophers are pulling away from Louisvillef. Freshman Gabe Kalscheur is 5-of-9 and Minnesota is up 59-43 midway through the second half.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

LSU has a 16-point halftime lead thanks, in part, to its play in the paint. The Tigers have more field goals in the paint than Yale has total field goals, and are outrebounding Yale as well. Yale hasn't shot the ball well, either. The Bulldogs are shooting 29 percent, which would be their worst percentage of the season. Yale entered the NCAA tournament shooting 49.8 percent, sixth in Division I.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

New Mexico State, owners of the longest losing streak in Tournament history, getting ready to tip against Auburn. Aggies coach Chris Jans is most concerned about Auburn's athleticism. His team doesn't see anything like that in the WAC. "It's going to be like walking out in the cold for the first time in the winter."

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

LSU guard Tremont Waters is from New Haven, Conn., and off to a great start against Yale. Waters said he grew up so close to Yale, "if I had a strong enough arm, I could probably throw a rock to Yale's basketball facilities." He also played AAU with two Yale players. Waters has 13 points and six assists in the first half. No LSU player has recorded 10 assists in an NCAA Tournament game since assists became official in 1984.

Adam Teicher ESPN Staff Writer

After a slow shooting start, Minnesota heated up to take a 38-33 lead at halftime over Louisville. The Gophers are shooting 50 percent, including 6-of-15 from three. One thing to watch in the second half: Minnesota's five starters have each played at least 18 minutes. Will the Gophers wear down?
