ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Alabama, Memphis and Pittsburgh will join Navy in the Veterans Classic to open the next men's college basketball season.
The annual event, which celebrates Veterans Day, is Friday, Nov. 10, at the U.S. Naval Academy. Alabama plays Memphis, followed by Pittsburgh versus Navy.
The visiting players will also get a look at life at the Naval Academy, including a tour of the "Yard," watching noon meal formation and eating lunch with the Brigade at King Hall.
CBS Sports Network will air a 30-minute show on the visits.
Pittsburgh coach Kevin Stallings said the experience of observing "the dedication and drive of the men and women in the United States Naval Academy will have a lasting impact on our young team."
