UNC warns other schools in wake of violations

Officials from Michigan, Marquette and California acknowledged that they were contacted by North Carolina and now are in the process of investigating whether players at their schools resold shoes.

Pac-12 task force: End 'one-and-done' rule

The Pac-12 task force, created in response to the FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball, has finalized several recommendations for change including a proposal to end the so-called "one-and-done" age-limit rule.

California is down 19 at home to Portland State at halftime. Golden Bears already have home losses to UC Riverside and Central Arkansas, and a loss to Chaminade.

Cal coach Wyking Jones was blunt after the Bears' loss to Division II Chaminade. "For me, in all the years that I've been coaching, I've never been so embarrassed in my life from the lack of effort from our guys," he said. "So, for me, it's about going back to the drawing board, myself and my staff, and figuring out what changes we need to make because there definitely needs to be some changes. So we just have to go back to the drawing board and figure that out, what changes we need to make. But there will definitely be some changes.

Chaminade's 96-72 win against Cal in the seventh-place game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational was the Silversword's first in the tournament since beating Texas in 2012. The Division II school is 8-92 all-time in the tournament, which started two years after it beat No. 1 Virginia in 1982.
