- West: North Dakota State Bison/Wagner Seahawks

Who likes upsets? Apparently 41 percent of the 2016 NCAA tournament field, as 13 lower-seeded teams beat higher-seeded foes in the first round.
No. 2 seed Xavier controlled the game against Weber State from start to finish and won because of its superior beef inside.
James Farr had 18 points and 15 rebounds, fellow big man Jalen Reynolds added 12 points and No. 2 seed Xavier pulled away late for a 71-53 victory over pesky 15th-seed Weber State.
Xavier advances past Weber State
The Musketeers led the Wildcats wire-to-wire and move on with a 71-53 victory behind 18 points off the bench from James Farr. Xavier advances to face Wisconsin on Sunday in the Round of 32. Box score

First Round: Weber State (15) vs. Xavier (2)
The Wildcats allow 95.8 points per 100 possessions, the best defensive efficiency in the Big Sky. But they go head-to-head with the Musketeers' dangerous offense, which averages 81.3 points per game, seventh among major-conference teams. Preview

Biggest tournament upsets: No. 10
In 1999, No. 14 Weber State knocked off No. 3 North Carolina by making 14-of-26 3-point attempts, including 7-of-10 in the second half. It was the first time the Tar Heels had lost in the first round since 1980, and was the Wildcats' second tourney win as a No. 14 seed. Biggest upsets
Mackenzie Kraemer and Rob Nelson recap the 10 biggest NCAA tournament upsets of the past 20 years, according to the point spread.
BPI doesn't count out the No. 15 seeds
BPI projects nearly a one-in-five chance that a No. 15 seed beats a No. 2 seed in the first round for only the eighth time in NCAA tourney history. Florida Gulf Coast was the last team to do it, in 2013. BPI predicts the tourney
Against the spread, pick Xavier
Xavier is arguably the most dangerous offense in the tourney. Weber State is well-coached, but the bottom line is it's going to need to score at least 70 points to have a shot at covering this game. Betting guide (Insider)
