Odds are stacked against Sweet 16 hopefuls UMBC, Marshall

No. 16 seed UMBC is in uncharted territory. And history doesn't bode well for No. 13 seed Marshall. But both teams already have defied big odds to reach the second round. What's one more win?

(13) Marshall beats (4) Wichita State to pick up the first NCAA Tournament win in school history as Jon Elmore matches a school NCAA Tournament record with 27 points (Cebe Price in 1956). The last Marshall player to score 25 or more points in the NCAA Tournament was Mike D'Antoni in 1972. Mike's brother Dan now coaches Marshall. Oh, Mike coaches, too.
