Northwestern's Charlie Hall -- son of Seinfeld's Julia Louis-Dreyfus and SNL's Brad Hall -- showed off his sense of humor Friday, tweeting that he will not declare for the NBA draft. Through two seasons at Northwestern, the walk-on forward has played a total of 20 minutes, scoring no points.

Early Commit: OG Wyatt Blake to Northwestern

Northwestern has been on run in the last two weeks picking up five commitments in March. A week after talented defensive end Devin O’Rourke and tight end Brian Kaiser committed out of the state of Illinois, Pat Fitzgerald and staff scored a most impactful home state win yet picking up a first ESPN Jr300 verbal on Friday in Wyatt Blake.

That Chris Collins technical near the end of the game was a real dagger for Northwestern. It was a four point swing and a possession given up. Hard not to disagree with Collins' frustrations but they came out at the worst time.

The mere fact that Northwestern played an NCAA tournament game on Thursday was already the greatest accomplishment in the program's history. That the Wildcats won their first-ever tournament game was a nice little bonus. But the manner in which they lost Saturday -- with a tireless second-half push to erase a 20-point deficit against arguably the nation's best team -- was, in its own way, as impressive as anything Chris Collins' team did in 2016-17. The past is gone. The future is bright.

Gonzaga's win over Northwestern will be remembered, rightly, for the blown goal-tending call on Zach Collins' block. When Chris Collins protested and was assessed a technical, he cost his team two more points. That was indeed the "four-point swing" that everyone said, but had Collins merely screamed and yelled in the conventionally approved manner it would have been a two-point swing in a game the 'Cats ultimately lost by six.
