The Notre Dame coach would be a home-run hire for Georgetown. The native of nearby Bethesda, Maryland has plenty of experience in the region.

ACC proves it was overrated

All season the ACC was widely considered the best league in the nation. It got nine teams into the NCAA tournament. Well, eight of them are gone now. So what does that tell you?

WVU never allowed Notre Dame to get into a rhythm (0:52)

ESPN Stats and Information

Notre Dame's top-two scorers put together completely opposite performances in the NCAA tournament. While Bonzie Colson averaged an efficient 22.5 PPG, V.J. Beachem struggled from the field, shooting just 3-for-23 in two games.

ESPN Stats and Information

Notre Dame did well to defend against 3-point shots all season long, but couldn't contain West Virginia's shooters in NCAA tournament. The Mountaineers shot a season-high 57.1 percent from behind the arc on Saturday.

John Gasaway ESPN Insider

Notre Dame made 10 3-pointers, but the Irish didn't look prepared for the West Virginia defense inside the arc. ND connected on just 36 percent of its 2s, and Jevon Carter rung up 24 points for the Mountaineers. That was more than enough to send WVU to the Sweet 16 for the third time under Bob Huggins.

Jeff Goodman ESPN Insider

When I polled coaches earlier in the season, Huggins and West Virginia were the team that most didn't want to play in March -- especially on short turn like this. So difficult to prepare for this defensive pressure.

ESPN Stats and Information

Fresh off surviving Thursday's scare from Princeton, ESPN's BPI only gives Notre Dame a third of a chance Saturday to beat No. 4 seed West Virginia, which held Bucknell to under a point per possession when applying its vaunted "Press Virginia" defense.
