New Packers special teams coach Shawn Mennenga said Matt LaFleur is committed to special teams. "Obviously he gave us the resources to hire a third (ST coach)," Mennegan said referring to assistants Maurice Drayton and Rayna Stewart. "Having more eyes on special teams will be important. He's obviously given us the resources to make it important."

Mike Pettine didn't say the Packers moved on from long-time DB coach/defensive pass game coordinator but said it was " a difficult decision." He said there were no issues or disagreements. "I have a ton of respect for Joe Whitt, and I think he's going to be a coordinator in this league sooner than later." Whitt landed as the Browns defensive pass game coordinator.
