One other note on the coaching staff, Luke Getsy completed his interview with the Packers. A source said he talked with Matt LaFleur about both the receivers job and the quarterbacks coach job but left town without a deal done yet. The Packers are expected to hire 49ers assistant O-line coach Adam Stenavich for James Campen's old job as offensive line coach, as NBC Sports Bay Area reported. Matt LaFleur wanted a line coach with experience in the Shanahan/zone run blocking scheme. Stenavich also is a Wisconsin native who was on Packers practice squad in 2006 and 2007.

Defensive assistant Scott McCurley isn't coming back to the Packers' staff, according to sources, but he's a coach who should be in demand because of his vast experience in different capacities under multiple defensive coordinators. He's another original member of former coach Mike McCarthy's staff dating to 2006.

New Packers coach Matt LaFleur made it clear on ESPN Wisconsin that he and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett will both work closely Aaron Rodgers even if he hires a QB coach. "I want to be in that quarterback room as much as possible," LaFleur said. "I entrust that he and I have the same vision for the quarterback." On Hackett's role he said. "It's so important. He's so organized, and that's one thin I really valued in him. He's got experience as an NFL play caller, and he knows what it's like. We've got similar backgrounds -- coach's kid and has a lot of the same influences I have. I thought it was a great fit (even though) I've never worked with him."
