Cabrera-Myette-Vargas combo no-hits Senators

AKRON, Ohio -- Fernando Cabrera, Aaron Myette and Jose Vargas combined to pitch the first no-hitter in the history of the Akron Aeros, beating the Harrisburg Senators 15-0 Tuesday in the Eastern League.

Fernando Cabrera (1-0) struck out nine and walked three in five innings, and Myette and Vargas pitched two innings each for Akron, Cleveland's Double-A affiliate. Myette is on an injury rehabilitation assignment.

Ryan Church had a three-run homer and four RBI, and Grady Sizemore had five of Akron's 18 hits. Harrisburg made six errors that led to five unearned runs.

The game was played in temperatures in the 40s before a crowd of 4,852. The Senators had scored six unearned runs in the ninth inning Monday night to win 14-9 in the Aeros' home opener.
