We can break this World Series down a hundred different ways, but it's likely to come down to dingers. Home runs have accounted for 42 percent of the runs this postseason and the team that hit more home runs won won each of the six playoff series plus both wild-card games.

The Cubs made it official Jon Lester is starting Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday. The Cubs have not announced the rest of the rotation but based on pitching schedules there's a good chance Jake Arrieta starts Game 2 with Kyle Hendricks and John Lackey going in Games 3 and 4.

Just saw a list of things that didn't exist last time the Cubs were in the World Series. Here's one that has personal resonance: The NBA.

Jenrry Mejia remains a member of the Mets organization -- although he is suspended at least through the 2017 season, and potentially beyond if he is not reinstated from his lifetime PED ban. That does not preclude the Mets from releasing him at a later date. But Mejia is costing the Mets nothing right now, and they have not relinquished control. Mejia has resumed pitching in the Dominican Winter League, which is not covered by the MLB ban.

The Cubs arrived in Cleveland last night and will workout this afternoon at Progressive Field at approximately 4 EST. Rosters aren't due until Tuesday morning but their Game 1 starter, presumably Jon Lester, along with Joe Maddon will hold press conferences before the Cubs take the field today.
