Justin Verlander, Justin Upton and J.D. Martinez have departed, and now the Tigers have announced that Brad Ausmus will not return as manager in 2018. General manager Al Avila said the team is looking for "a new approach and a fresh start" with its next managerial hire. The Tigers are in full-fledged rebuilding mode, so it's likely they'll be looking for a developmental type as they move on from Ausmus. He posted a 312-325 record in his four seasons with the franchise.
