Kearns, Reds agree to one-year, $1.85 million contract

CINCINNATI -- Austin Kearns avoided salary arbitration with the Cincinnati Reds by agreeing to a $1.85 million, one-year contract on Monday.

The outfielder batted .240 last season but set career highs with 18 homers and 67 RBI.

Three Reds players remain eligible for arbitration: first baseman Adam Dunn, pitcher Aaron Harang and shortstop Felipe Lopez. Players and teams will exchange salary proposals Tuesday.
