ATLANTA -- Adam LaRoche has arrived in Atlanta just in time to make his first start with the Braves after his flight from Boston was delayed by a bomb scare at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
LaRoche arrived at the Turner Field clubhouse at 2:55 p.m., far too late for batting practice and only a little more than an hour before starting in the Braves' game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
LaRoche was in Baltimore with the Red Sox when he was traded to the Braves for Casey Kotchman on Friday. LaRoche returned to Boston to clean out his locker on Friday night.
He was dealt from Pittsburgh to Boston for two minor leaguers on July 22.
The Braves optioned first baseman Barbaro Canizares to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear the roster spot for LaRoche.
