Yankees P Luis Severino's disappointing season came to an end Saturday. In his final start, he gave up three runs on five hits in 3-2/3 innings. The 22-year-old righty finished with a 5.83 ERA in 2016. Manager Joe Girardi said it remains to be seen whether Severino enters 2017 in the rotation or the bullpen.

Matt Holliday, whose season was supposed to be over, had a clutch pinch-hit RBI single and Jedd Gyorko hit the go-ahead home run, his 30th of the season, in the eighth. The Cardinals could finish the day tied with the Giants for the second wild card.
