Everyone's different, of course, but to get idea of Tyler Thornburg's timetable in return from shoulder impingement, consider reliever Junichi Tazawa, who missed 18 days with similar issue last season. Joe Kelly, a starter when he dealt with impinged shoulder last April, missed a month.

Solid showing of opposite-field power there by Matt Adams, who homered to left-center off Robert Gsellman. It was Adams' fifth spring homer and he entered today batting .302 (albeit with 18 K's). I do hope the Cardinals find a way to sneak him into 300-plus PAs, because he's still got awfully underrated power potential despite the tough home ballpark for it.

Aw, bummer, the Reds just claimed Scooter Gennett off waivers. One of the reasons I liked him as an NL-only end-gamer at the onset of spring training was that the Brewers were trying to make him a true utilityman, increasing his positional flexibility in fantasy. I'm not so sure it'll play out that way in Cincinnati.

I'm surprised to see Ketel Marte demoted, which suggests the Diamondbacks are unlikely to trade Nick Ahmed or Chris Owings anytime soon. Marte is a more interesting player in fantasy than Ahmed, but he's still not so much so that he's a worthwhile stash except in the very deepest NL-only leagues.

Even stronger cheap-steals option in AL-only: Delino DeShields, who has made the Rangers Opening Day roster. There are ways he could sneak into a lot of PAs at all three outfield spots, left field with a Jurickson Profar/Ryan Rua projected platoon, center field if Carlos Gomez struggles, right field if Nomar Mazara still can't hit lefties.

Addison Russell (back) is hopeful to play Wednesday or at lest Thur/Fri but missing opening day isn't completely out of the question if he isn't 100 percent. He's close but doesn't want to take any chances. Ben Zobrist (neck) is back in the lineup on Tuesday after missing a week.

The Cubs released Munenori Kawasaki giving him a chance to explore other opportunities. There's still a chance he returns to the organization.
