The Cubs swept the Jays behind a wild 6-5 win on Sunday in 10 innings. Alex Avila delivered a 2 run single with the bases loaded in the tenth, part of a three run inning after the Jays scored twice in the top of the tenth. It was the first runs the Cubs scored since a 3 run double by Albert Almora Jr in the third inning. The tenth was aided by two Cubs reaching via dropped third strikes, one after the Jays catcher forgot to throw to first base. Miguel Montero homered to tie the game in the sixth and Just Wilson walked two more hitters, including one with the bases loaded in the tenth but the Cubs offense overcame.
