I meant 7.1 innings. But now Moore is through eight innings! And 119 pitches. Tough call for Bochy in the ninth. I'd let him start and see if he can get a quick inning. He threw 24 pitches in the eighth, which included a walk. Drama at Dodger Stadium!

No team has ever had a no-hitter in five consecutive seasons. Giants have had one each of the last four seasons (Cain, Lincecum, Lincecum, Heston). Dodgers are the only other team to have one in four straight seasons (all Koufax from '62-'65). H/T @waynerandazzo

Most pitches in a game this season for the Giants' Matt Moore? He had 114 for the Rays on 6/12 vs. Houston. He's at 95 through seven innings without allowing a hit at Los Angeles.

AJ Ellis did a great job in helping to develop Yasmani Grandal ability to call a game, frame pitches and block balls. Now he'll be able to do the same with Jorge Alfaro of the Phillies who they called up today. Ruiz improves the offense for the Dodgers back up catcher but they lose a significant clubhouse presence in Ellis. The Dodgers by the way don't have a hit, run or win since they made the trade.

Tough three days for the Mariners as they lose two at home to the Yankees and blow a 6-3 lead tonight against the White Sox on the road. The bullpen just isn't good enough. They're now 51-11 when leading after six innings (.836), below the MLB average of .868. But they're 5-11 when tied after six.
