No surprises regarding the condition of the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger, who sprained his right ankle during Saturday's game. While it appeared that there was some slight swelling around the injury, manager Dave Roberts said, "He came out of it as good as expected. It was a mild strain and he'll be available to hit (today). We'll try to stay away from it but if an obvious spot comes up, we'll use him."

Koji Uehara had been activated for Rob Zastryzny, who heads back to Triple-Iowa.

New Cubs catcher Rene Rivera will start on Sunday as the team sent rookie Victor Caratini to Triple A Iowa to make room for him. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Rivera is immediately the best pitch framer on the team, a skill which could come in handy on Sunday when Kyle Hendricks starts. He works the edges as well as anyone. Albert Almora Jr leads off against righty Marco Estrada who's been much tougher on lefties this season. Righties have a .366 OBP off him this year. Kris Bryant and Jason Heyward get the day off. Tommy La Stella starts at third, Jon Jay is in RF.

Drew Pomeranz will throw a bullpen session Monday but is in line to make his scheduled start Wednesday night in Cleveland. Pomeranz left Friday night's game in the fourth inning because of back spasms. He has responded favorably to treatment over the past few days.

This is one of the hats the Pirates will be wearing for tonight's MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport. A bright-yellow Bucco.

So you're wondering what's up with this picture of an aircraft hanger. Later this morning, the Pirates and Cardinals will arrive here ahead of their Sunday night baseball game in Williamsport, PA ... home of the Little League World Series.

ESPN Stats and Information

Aaron Judge on Saturday had his 13th three-strikeout game of the season, tied with Curtis Granderson in 2012 for the most in a season by a Yankees player (batters' strikeouts have been official in the American League since the start of 1913). Judge fell to 0-for-10 with eight strikeouts against Chris Sale, his most at-bats without a hit against any pitcher.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

Chris Sale: "Any time I give up two homers in a game it's not going to work out. I've got to be better than that." On the pitches that were hit by Tyler Austin and Todd Frazier: "One was a fastball, one was a slider, and I've never seen a good pitch go over the fence."

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Here's what Aroldis Chapman told me about his demotion from the Yankees closer role: "I left the manager no other option if I'm not doing my job and causing my team to lose games. But I'll be working hard to figure this out."

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

CC Sabathia: "It's a big win for us and it's kind of a big loss for them because they need to win the games (Chris Sale) is out there."

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

Yankees 4, Red Sox 3: So much for Chris Sale being a Yankee slayer. One night after a crushing loss, the Yanks stared down the Red Sox ace and beat him. Tyler Austin and Todd Frazier homered, CC Sabathia came off the disabled list to toss six solid innings, and New York's bullpen held on for the win. The Red Sox put the tying run on base in the ninth inning, but it was erased when pinch-runner Brock Holt was caught stealing second.

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Incluido el de esta noche, "Carita" ha jugado 5 partidos contra los Yankees, yéndose de 18-8 con 3 cuadrangulares y 6 carreras remolcadas.

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Including tonight, "Carita" (Rafael Devers) has played 5 games against the Yankees, going 8-for-18 (.444) with 3 home runs and 6 RBI.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

According to Elias, Rafael Devers is the first player ever with as many as eight home runs in his first 20 major-league games before turning 21.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

Rafael Devers has homered in three straight games vs. Yankees. Dare we say, that's David Ortiz-esque.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

Todd Frazier has had an eventful night against friend and ex-teammate Chris Sale. Hit by a pitch on the left calf in the second inning, strikeout in the fourth and now a solo homer in the sixth. 4-2, Yankees. Only the fifth time in 25 starts that Sale has allowed more than three earned runs.

Scott Lauber ESPN Staff Writer

Here's what Mets minor-league manager Luis Rojas told me about Rafael Devers' baserunning after managing him in winter ball: "You see his body and he might not look very athletic, like a guy who's going to steal 10 bases in a season or even five. But he moves a lot better than what you think."

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Aaron Judge sets a new MLB single-season strikeout record with 36 consecutive games with at least one strikeout.
