Is it the last day at Wrigley in 2017 or will we be back on Thursday?

Red Sox interviewed Ron Gardenhire today, as expected, a baseball source confirms. Sox are "still discussing" whether to bring in any other managerial candidates beyond Alex Cora, Brad Ausmus and Gardenhire.

Como informamos, Willson Contreras está en la alineación de los Cachorros para su partido de eliminación contra los Dodgers esta noche en Wrigley Field.

Don't mind us. Just watching Aaron Judge launch BP home runs before Game 5 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium. A few pitches before this one, he knocked one onto the screen covering Monument Park, and his next time up, he crushed two straight balls way beyond that, into the standing room area above the sports bar in center field. Wow.

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Spoke to Willson Contreras and he told me he woke up feeling fine, with no swelling, after being hit in the forearm during the game last night. Contreras told me he hopes to be in the starting lineup today.

Andrew Marchand ESPN Senior Writer

Yankees manager Joe Girardi will go with Chase Headley at DH over Matt Holliday in Game 5. Girardi started Holliday against lefty Dallas Keuchel in Game 1.

There is potentially only one more home game at Wrigley Field in 2017.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Joe Maddon isn't going to do anything out of the norm with his team down 3-0. He has three meetings during a season: Spring training, the All-Star break and before the playoffs. "There's nothing inspirational I can say at this point," he said.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

You can analyze all the numbers and metrics and managerial decisions, but the Dodgers are one win away their first World Series appearance since 1988 because they've completely shut down the Cubs' offense. Through three games, they've held the Cubs to a .160 average while striking out 32 batters and issuing just four walks. It's not over until it's over and if anyone knows about impossible comebacks it's Theo Epstein, but this one looks over.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

After a 6-1 NLCS Game 3 victory, the Dodgers are shaking hands with a 3-0 series lead and a chance to finish off the sweep Wednesday night at Wrigley Field.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

The Cubs have some late life after an Alex Avila single and an Albert Almora double to lead off the ninth inning. But they still have a long ways to go to catch the Dodgers in Game 3.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

Chicago fans are exiting the ballpark early as the wheels have completely come off for the Cubs late in Game 3.

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

The Dodgers' Yu Darvish needed just seven pitches to get through the six and is at 76 for the game. There is a pronounced nervous energy at Wrigley Field right now.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

In a somewhat curious decision given how well his bullpen has pitched, Dave Roberts does not bat for Yu Darvish with the bases loaded and a chance to blow the game wide open. So of course Darvish draws a four-pitch walk because that's the kind of postseason it's been so far for Roberts: Every decision turns to gold.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

Interesting decision from Dave Roberts in the sixth. He had Curtis Granderson in the on-deck circle, but pulled him back to let Yu Darvish hit for himself with the bases loaded and two out ... and Carl Edwards Jr. walked Darvish, adding to L.A.'s lead. It's been that kind of postseason for the Dodgers (and Edwards) so far.

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

Wow. A gift run for the Dodgers to push the lead to 4-1. Yu Darvish, who wasn't going to swing had the Cubs' Carl Edwards walked up to the plate and placed the ball on a tee, walks him on four pitches to force in a run.

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

Now, likely spurred on by my Old Hoss Radbourn reference, Dave Roberts has Tony Watson throwing in the Dodgers' bullpen. Anthony Rizzo is leading off the sixth for the Cubs.

Carlos Nava Columnist, ESPN Deportes

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

Yu Darvish has thrown just 69 pitches through five innings and apparently no one is warming up in the Dodgers' bullpen. Tough to say because the bullpens are behind the wall at Wrigley Field, but the scoreboard lists only the Cubs' Carl Edwards as throwing at the moment. Anyway, if Darvish comes out for the sixth, in a 2017 Dodgers playoff context, that kind of puts him in the same class as Old Hoss Radbourn.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

What started as a promising night for the Cubs' offense has been followed by a string of zeroes against Yu Darvish in NLCS Game 3 -- something Chicago couldn't afford to have happen with Los Angeles' lights-out bullpen looming.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Yu Darvish is facing the lineup for the third time, although his splits were a little strange this season. First: .554 OPS allowed; second: .799 (!); third: .691. Dave Roberts had a quick hook in his NLDS start and with a 3-1 lead may not hesitate to go to the bullpen here if Darvish surrenders a couple baserunners.
