Over the course of the long baseball season, in any given series even a good team can look over-matched. The White Sox do not look like a good team by any measure right now, and they certainly looked over-matched this weekend against the champion Astros. Houston completed a three-game sweep on Sunday with a 7-1 win. The Astros outscored Chicago 27-2 in the series. On the bright side, the White Sox avoided becoming the first team since 1929 to allow double-digit runs in five straight games. The Astros will now return home for a big series against the Los Angeles Angels.

If Eric Lauer indeed makes his MLB debut Tuesday at Coors Field, he'd become only the seventh pitcher ever to start there in his big league debut. None of the previous six lasted more than five innings or 90 pitches, and the group's ERA was 7.27.
