Tigers manufacture a run in the third inning and second baseman Ian Kinsler plays a key role with his a base hit that advanced Erick Aybar to third for a sac fly. Tonight is the first game this season that Kinsler is not hitting leadoff. Earlier today, manager Brad Ausmus admitted he was simply looking to change Kinsler's luck by dropping him to the two-hole. Jays MVP candidate Josh Donaldson just homered to right center to give him four bombs in his last five at-bats (and tie the game 1-1). One line from Theo Epstein's pregame chat in the Cubs' dugout, in response to a question about whether there is any hope for a Kyle Schwarber return this season: "No, he can't play this year." Okay, then.

Add another notch to Mookie Betts' case to be crowned AL MVP. Homer No. 30, a solo shot to open the second inning at Fenway against Rays starter Matt Andriese, and it puts a dent in an advertisement atop the Green Monster.

Clayton Kershaw will pitch in a simulated game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday and manager Dave Roberts was jokingly asked if Tim Tebow will be there to hit. "I don't know if Tebow will be a part of that," Roberts said. "I know there's some strength behind his swing. I saw a little video. Great athlete. I just don't know if he's ready for the Clayton Kershaw slider, though."

In case you'd forgotten all the ways Bryce Harper can find to beat you, he just sent out a reminder. By scoring from first on a single!

Jayson Werth loves to remind the Phillies he used to play in Philly. His HR tonight makes 7 in his last 15 games at Citizen Bank Park. No curtain calls for him, though!
