The Yankees announced that they have called up OF Clint Frazier today. In the corresponding move, INF Ronald Torreyes was optioned to Triple-A. Frazier is not the 26th man, it appears. Looks like another pitcher will be coming up for the second game.

Maybe it's the slump. Maybe it's the heat. Regardless, Bryce Harper has ditched his beard. The clean-shaven slugger was out taking early batting practice at Nats Park, where the RealFeel is 99 degrees. Harper leads the NL in homers but is hitting .198 since the beginning of May, with 49 strikeouts and 13 walks.

Brett Gardner says he won't be starting the second game tonight, but he believes he'll be available to pinch hit late in that game. Says his sore right knee is feeling better. Hopes this is "maybe a bump in the road."
