After a generous call by the official scorer Pirates infielder John Jaso was credited with a triple and hence the cycle as the Pirates lead the Cubs 8-4. It looked like Jaso had stopped at second and then continued on to third base after an errant throw. It's the first cycle in PNC park history.

Kinsler's home run in the bottom of the third inning gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead over the Indians. A Tigers win and an Orioles loss would move the teams into a tie for the second AL wild card spot.

Chris Coghlan left Wednesday's game with an apparent left leg injury after crashing into the wall in left field chasing down a fly ball. He walked off under his own power while Albert Almora Jr took his place in the game.
