Red Sox will send minor-league right-handers Shaun Anderson and Gregory Santos to the Giants in return for Eduardo Nunez. Anderson is 6-3 with a 3.42 ERA in 18 starts between two Class A levels; Santos, 17, is 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA in seven rookie-ball starts.

Eduardo Nunez could potentially serve a few purposes for Red Sox: a) right-handed hitter can platoon at third with lefty-swinging Rafael Devers; b) can spell banged-up Xander Bogaerts at shortstop (Bogaerts has four hits in last 35 at-bats)

I really wish the Angels were self-aware enough to just start hugging Mike Trout in the dugout en masse as a rib

ESPN Stats and Information

The Indians beat the Angels on Edwin Encarnación's 11th-inning grand slam. It was the second walk-off grand slam in the majors this season (Matt Carpenter hit one in April). The Indians joined the Nationals as the only teams with two slams in a game this season, and it was the first time since 1999 that the Indians hit two grand slams in a game.

In their 102nd game, the Red Sox finally hit their 100th home run. Fittingly, it was a solo shot by Hanley Ramirez. Fifty-seven of the Red Sox's homers have been solos, including 12 of Ramirez's 17.

ESPN Stats and Information

Adrián Beltré went hitless Tuesday, snapping a six-game hitting streak. He was the only one of the top six hitters in the Rangers lineup who didn't record multiple hits.

ESPN Stats and Information

Before he was injured on April 27, Yoenis Céspedes was 14th in the majors with a .619 slugging percentage. Entering today, he was slugging .409 since his return on June 10, which ranked 128th in MLB.

ESPN Stats and Information

Aaron Judge has a 15-game hitting streak at home, the second-longest home hitting streak in MLB this season.

ESPN Stats and Information

Both the Dodgers (69-31) and Astros (67-33) have won two-thirds of their first 100 games. Since the World Series was introduced in 1903, this is the eighth time that two teams have won at least 67 of their first 100 games in the same season. Four of those eight happened in the first ten World Series, and this is the first instance since the Yankees and Indians in 1954. In the five previous instances where the teams were in different leagues, they went on to meet in the World Series four times.

The Nationals fell 7-0 to the Brewers, just the third time this season they've been shut out. Only the Reds (twice) have been blanked less among NL teams. Despite the loss, Washington (59-39) still boasts the third-best record in baseball.

This is worth remembering in Gray/NYY talks: Oakland's evaluators have liked NYY prospect Jorge Mateo in past conversations.

At Nats Park, Bryce Harper's eighth-inning double extended his hitting streak to 17 games. That's the longest of his career and the fourth longest in MLB this season.

Joey Gallo, this is your life: With his two-homer game, Gallo now has more multi-homer games (2) than multi-single games (1). Thirty-nine of his 54 hits have gone for extra bases.
