The last pitcher to throw 45 or more pitches and then pitch the next day in the postseason was Keith Foulke in 2004, according to Elias Sports Bureau research. He threw 50 pitches in Game 4 of the ALCS and 22 pitches in Game 5. Indians manager Terry Francona was Foulke's manager on the Red Sox in 2004.
