Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said he had preliminary conversations with Brandon Moss' agent about a contract extension roughly two months ago, but that they decided to table those discussions until after the season. The terms have likely changed considerably since then. Moss has five hits in 73 at-bats this month and has seen his OPS go from .895 on Aug. 31 to .786 going into Tuesday night's game against the Reds.
