Albert Pujols talked to me about joining Adrián Beltré as the only two players born in the Dominican Republic with 3,000 hits: "It's very special, especially knowing all the Dominican players that come through the big leagues. To be able to accomplish that has been unbelievable. But I really don't think about it. When I hit it, when that moment comes, I'll probably be more focused on it. But right now, my job is to try and win every game and to try to help this ball club win. That's my goal. I don't play for records, I play to win a championship. And there would be nothing better than to bring a championship this year to the city of Anaheim. That's my main focus. So I'm aware, because I mean, I'm human. I'm aware of where I'm at. We have big numbers in our stadium that show you every day! It's going to be a very special moment whenever it happens. But I really don't look for it, I really just let it happen. Just like I have with the 500 and 600, and ignore the distractions."
