Joe Maddon says that his hope is to save Jon Lester for a start if the series gets back to Los Angeles with Jake Arrieta starting tonight and Jose Quintana slated if there is a Game 5 tomorrow in Chicago. But the Cubs manager added that 'anything can happen' if it gets far enough along tonight. Both John Lackey and Wade Davis are available for multiple innings tonight.

Aaron Judge continues to answer his MVP candidate rival, Jose Altuve. While Altuve looked like the far superior player in the first two games in Houston, Judge is beginning to take over the series in the Bronx. After his big hits in the Yankees' ALCS Game 4 comeback win, Judge added an RBI double in the third to extend the Yankees' lead in Game 5.

Andre Ethier repite en el lineup de los Dodgers, al que ingresa por vez primera en la Serie de Campeonato Grandal. Chris Taylor, Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Yasiel Puig, Andre Ethier, Curtis Granderson, Yasmank Grandal, Chase Utley y Alex Wood.

Chicago pitcher Jose Quintana says the Cubs got together as a team and talked today ahead of a must-win Game 4 at Wrigley. The message? One game at a time.

In his third career postseason start against the Yankees, Dallas Keuchel has finally blinked. He allowed a pair of two-out hits -- a double to Starlin Castro and an RBI single to Greg Bird -- in the second inning. Keuchel hadn't given up a run in 14 previous innings against the Yankees in the postseason -- six scoreless innings in the 2015 wild-card game and seven shutout frames in Game 1 of this ALCS.

The Yankees jumped on top of the Astros in the second. Against their nemesis, Dallas Keuchel, Starlin Castro smashed a two-out double and then was driven home by Greg Bird, who laced an RBI single to right.

Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka escaped the first scoring chance of Game 5. The Astros wasted Yuli Gurriel's leadoff double in the second. After Alex Bregman moved Gurriel to third, Carlos Beltran and Marwin Gonzalez failed to bring him home. Houston would have liked to have gone out to an early lead to take the Yankee Stadium crowd out of this game.

Kyle Schwarber remains in the lineup after hitting a home run on Tuesday. He'll bat second again while Albert Almora Jr leads off. Willson Contreras is starting after leaving Game 3 after taking a ball off his shoulder. Jon Jay is in right field as Jason Heyward won't start against lefty Alex Wood. It could be Jake Arrieta's last start as a Cub.

Red Sox interviewed Ron Gardenhire today, as expected, a baseball source confirms. Sox are "still discussing" whether to bring in any other managerial candidates beyond Alex Cora, Brad Ausmus and Gardenhire.

Como informamos, Willson Contreras está en la alineación de los Cachorros para su partido de eliminación contra los Dodgers esta noche en Wrigley Field.

Don't mind us. Just watching Aaron Judge launch BP home runs before Game 5 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium. A few pitches before this one, he knocked one onto the screen covering Monument Park, and his next time up, he crushed two straight balls way beyond that, into the standing room area above the sports bar in center field. Wow.

Marly Rivera ESPN Writer

Spoke to Willson Contreras and he told me he woke up feeling fine, with no swelling, after being hit in the forearm during the game last night. Contreras told me he hopes to be in the starting lineup today.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi will go with Chase Headley at DH over Matt Holliday in Game 5. Girardi started Holliday against lefty Dallas Keuchel in Game 1.

There is potentially only one more home game at Wrigley Field in 2017.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Joe Maddon isn't going to do anything out of the norm with his team down 3-0. He has three meetings during a season: Spring training, the All-Star break and before the playoffs. "There's nothing inspirational I can say at this point," he said.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

You can analyze all the numbers and metrics and managerial decisions, but the Dodgers are one win away their first World Series appearance since 1988 because they've completely shut down the Cubs' offense. Through three games, they've held the Cubs to a .160 average while striking out 32 batters and issuing just four walks. It's not over until it's over and if anyone knows about impossible comebacks it's Theo Epstein, but this one looks over.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

After a 6-1 NLCS Game 3 victory, the Dodgers are shaking hands with a 3-0 series lead and a chance to finish off the sweep Wednesday night at Wrigley Field.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

The Cubs have some late life after an Alex Avila single and an Albert Almora double to lead off the ninth inning. But they still have a long ways to go to catch the Dodgers in Game 3.

Dan Mullen ESPN.com

Chicago fans are exiting the ballpark early as the wheels have completely come off for the Cubs late in Game 3.

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

The Dodgers' Yu Darvish needed just seven pitches to get through the six and is at 76 for the game. There is a pronounced nervous energy at Wrigley Field right now.
