Dodgers manager Dave Roberts won't say if Clayton Kershaw or Rich Hill will be used on short rest in the playoffs, but recent DL stints for both make it unlikely. Maybe Roberts is leaving the door open in case the Dodgers are facing elimination in Game 4 of the NLDS, at which point he might go to Kershaw.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says Julio Urias will most likely be on the playoff roster. Added that Jose De Leon has not been ruled out, but the odds of having both available in the NLDS seem slim.

Lucas Duda was scratched from the game on Wednesday night. The Mets will provide more information later.

Michael Fulmer goes for the Tigers tonight and while helping Detroit win the wild card is obviously the top priority, he also has a chance to win the ERA title, but needs 6.1 innings to qualify. With a 2.95 ERA he could become just the fifth qualified rookie starter to finish with a sub-3.00 ERA since 2000 (Jose Fernandez, Brandon Webb, J.A. Happ, Jeremy Hellickson).

ESPN Stats and Information

Michael Fulmer starts for the Tigers against the Indians tonight (7 ET, ESPN). Fulmer leads the AL in ERA (2.95) and leads AL rookies in Wins Above Replacement (5.0). Fulmer and Justin Verlander are a combined 27-15 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. All other Tigers starters are 28-38 with a 5.18 ERA.

The Dodgers' 30 victories from rookie pitchers are the franchise's most since 1952, when they had 51. Jose De Leon can make it 31 when he starts Wednesday night against the Padres. Dodgers rookies are 30-23 this season in 67 starts, with an impressive 3.61 ERA.

ESPN Stats and Information

Something to watch from Giants starter Jeff Samardzija tonight (vs Rockies, ESPN, 10 ET): Samardzija has thrown more than twice as many sinkers in 2016 (173) as he did in 2015 (82). He had 4 K with his sinker in his last start, his most in a game. He's also throwing a curve 15% of the time since the All-Star Break, after not throwing it at all before. Opponents are hitting .184 against it.

In what was essentially a must-win game for both teams, the Mariners beat the Astros 12-4 behind a three-run homer in the first from Robinson Cano and Kyle Seager's late blast to ice it. Now the Mariners turn to the scoreboard, rooting for the Blue Jays and Indians to win tonight, and head home probably needing to sweep all four from the A's.
