Red Sox 5, Cubs 4: Craig Kimbrel gets the save, but Fernando Abad recorded the game's two biggest outs, striking out Matt Szczur and Kyle Schwarber with the tying and go-ahead runs on base in eighth inning. Theo Epstein called it a "family reunion," given the many Cubs personnel with Red Sox ties who returned to Fenway Park. The Cubs actually led 1-0 after Kris Bryant homered but they were 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position while Kyle Schwarber struck out 4 times, Jason Heyward 3 times.

The Nationals lost more than a game. In the 9th inning of their 7-5 loss to the Mets, center fielder and leadoff man Adam Eaton had to be carried off the field after appearing to roll his ankle at first base on infield single. Acquired from the White Sox in a December blockbuster trade, Eaton (.291 avg, .392 obp) has been a major spark for the first-place Nats.

Eddie Matz ESPN Senior Writer

Adam Eaton just got carried off the field at suddenly silent Nats Park. He reached on an infield single to load the bases in the top of the 9th against the Mets, but appeared to roll his left ankle on a bang-bang play.
